The average time to receive a diagnosis in the UK for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) was 2 years and 2 months (791 days), and 2 years and 5 months (880 days) for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Nearly 1 in 5 children were waiting over 4 years for a diagnosis.
For mental health treatment, people were 8 times more likely to wait over 18 months compared to physical health treatment, and almost 40% of children had their referrals closed before accessing support.
The Neurodevelopmental Clinic provides ‘gold-standard’ assessments and treatment, with virtually no wait-times, person-centred care, and in-depth reports with tailored recommendations to support you at home, school, and work.
“…because the right support at the right time can change everything…”
Our ASD assessments have limited wait-times, follow NICE clinical guidelines, conducted with a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), and are entirely online! That means no hassle appointments, quick results, and quality care.

If you suspect that either you or your child has neurodevelopmental challenges, the first step would be to explore the resources available through school, local organisations, and the NHS.
Schools often have Special Educational Needs Coordinators (SENCOs) who can provide guidance, while local charities and support groups may offer additional assistance.
Speaking with your GP can also help you understand the referral process for NHS assessments and support.
If you decide to pursue a private assessment, it can be beneficial to involve these professionals in the process, as their insights and documentation can contribute to a comprehensive evaluation.
In cases where support options are limited or waiting times for services are too long, or if you simply just want to bypass the NHS process, our clinic provides an alternative route for timely and thorough assessments.
Our goal is to ensure that individuals and families have access to the right support at the right time, whether through public services or private care.
We provide private online ADHD and autism assessments and treatment for most neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions for individuals aged 7 and older. Our services are available for children, adolescents, and adults across the UK.
A referral is not necessary to book an appointment with our clinic.
You can book directly using the book now option on our site, or contacting the clinic over telephone or email to schedule an appointment.
We are also happy to discuss your case with referring professionals, such as GPs or therapists, if needed.
At this time, we operate completely online, offering video and telephone consultations.
Our goal is to offer a seamless experience offering greater flexibility and accessibility from the comfort of your home.
Good question! Finding the right provider can feel like a daunting process. With many clinics offering similar services at varying price points, it’s important to find the best fit for you. Our goal isn’t to compare ourselves to other providers but rather to highlight what we offer.
We are incredibly thorough, detailed, and committed to providing evidence-based assessments and tailored support. The price you pay for our assessments is the final price—no hidden fees, additional costs, or unnecessary charges. If we determine that an extra appointment is needed to gather more information, we will cover the cost.
Our team takes the time to understand each individual’s unique strengths and challenges, ensuring that our recommendations are meaningful and practical.
For additional reassurance, we also offer an initial consultation option for our assessments. This session allows us to discuss the process, answer any questions, and begin gathering key information. If you decide to proceed with the full assessment, the consultation fee will be applied toward the total cost.
Above all, we prioritise honesty and integrity. If we believe another service would better meet your needs, we will always guide you in the right direction.
You can easily book an online assessment or treatment appointment through our booking portal. Simply click the book now option on our site and select the type of appointment you would like (i.e., ADHD assessment package), which will show you the available dates and times. You will be asked to create an account, which we use to send key appointment information, confirm your identity, pay appointment fees, and book future appointments.
Our booking portal will show appointment availability 3 months in advance – if there are no available appointments, you have an option to place yourself on the cancellation/wait-list to ensure you are not waiting longer than you have to!
We believe in transparent pricing, which means no hidden fees, additional costs, or unnecessary charges.
Our service prices can be found here. If you have any further questions about our fees, please contact the clinic.
We understand that the cost of assessments can be a significant investment, and we aim to make our services as accessible as possible. To support this, we offer flexible payment options, including installment plans, so you don’t have to pay the full fee upfront.
If you need a payment plan, please let us know, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs while ensuring you can still access timely and thorough support.
We do not directly bill insurance providers at this time. However, we can provide all necessary documentation to support you in submitting an insurance claim for reimbursement.
All assessments and treatments are conducted by experienced clinicians who have worked in both NHS and private settings.
Our assessments and interventions are based on recommended standards and national guidelines, such as NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence), SIGN (Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network), and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) to ensure safe, high-quality, and effective care.
Our assessments are recognised formally and can be used to support applications for Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Our online neurodevelopmental assessments follow the same evidence-based methods as face-to-face appointments. We use structured clinical interviews, validated rating scales, and behavioural observations to ensure a thorough and accurate diagnosis.
Clinical guidelines emphasise that diagnosis should not be made based on a single tool alone; instead, it’s essential to gather insights from different stages of life, various environments, and multiple perspectives.
Online assessments also offer several advantages, including reduced wait times, greater convenience, and access to specialist care from anywhere in the UK.
Many individuals find that being assessed in a familiar environment at home allows them to feel more comfortable, leading to a more natural and accurate representation of their experiences.
Our waiting times can vary depending on demand and the time of year, but we aim to begin assessments within six to eight weeks of your referral.
We also offer a cancellation list, so if a spot opens up at the last minute, you may be able to be seen even sooner. We understand how important timely support is and do our best to keep waiting times as short as possible.
For the most up-to-date information on availability, please contact our clinic directly.
We wish we had a simple answer for this, but the truth is—it depends! Every assessment is unique, just like the individuals we see. Rather than a single session, our process is designed to be thorough and structured to ensure we gather the right information for an accurate and meaningful evaluation.
In general, you can expect a minimum of three sessions, totaling several hours. Our assessment process includes:
Structured sessions with the individual and/or caregivers to gather detailed information.
Opportunities to speak directly with the child/young person (if applicable) to gain their perspective.
Informant interviews with parents, teachers, or others who know the individual well.
A mix of questionnaires and forms, which can be completed at your own pace.
Structured observation tools to assess key behaviours and characteristics relevant to ASD, ADHD, or other neurodevelopmental conditions.
We aim to be as thorough as possible while keeping the process manageable. If we determine that additional sessions are needed to gather more information, we will discuss this with you—but rest assured, there are no hidden fees for extra appointments.
If you have specific scheduling needs or concerns, feel free to reach out, and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.
We know how important it is to receive your report as soon as possible.
We aim to complete a draft report within two weeks after the final assessment session. Once the draft is ready, we will schedule a feedback discussion to go through the findings, answer any questions, and ensure the report accurately reflects your or your child’s experiences.
Following this, the finalised report will be sent to you within a couple of days—or sooner if no changes are needed.
Preparing for a neurodevelopmental assessment can help ensure the process is as smooth and insightful as possible. Here are some steps you can take to get ready:
Write down key developmental history details, including early milestones, challenges, and strengths.
Collect any previous assessment reports, school reports, Individualised Education Plans (IEPs), or relevant medical records.
Note specific concerns or behaviours that prompted the assessment, with examples from different settings (e.g., home, school, work).
Take some time to observe patterns in behaviour, attention, communication, or sensory sensitivities.
Consider how challenges impact daily life and in what situations they become more noticeable.
If possible, gather input from teachers, employers, family members, or others who interact with the individual in different environments. Their perspectives can provide valuable insights.
Many assessments include questionnaires for parents, teachers, or partners—giving them a heads-up can help them prepare thoughtful responses.
Choose a quiet, distraction-free environment for the appointment.
Test your internet connection, webcam, and microphone in advance.
Have any required documents or completed questionnaires ready to refer to during the session.
It’s normal to feel nervous about an assessment, but remember that the process is designed to provide clarity and support.
If the assessment is for a child, reassure them that there are no “right” or “wrong” answers—it’s just about understanding their experiences.
If you have specific questions about the process, diagnosis, or next steps, write them down so you can discuss them with the clinician.
Being well-prepared can help ensure the assessment is as accurate and beneficial as possible. If you have any concerns beforehand, don’t hesitate to reach out to your clinician for guidance.
Receiving a diagnosis can be a meaningful and validating step for individuals and families. While every journey is unique, some key benefits include:
Better understanding of strengths and challenges – A diagnosis can provide clarity on why certain difficulties exist and help individuals and their loved ones make sense of their experiences.
Access to appropriate support and accommodations – Many schools, workplaces, and other institutions require a formal diagnosis to provide adjustments, such as extra time in exams or workplace accommodations.
Guidance for interventions and treatment – A diagnosis can open doors to tailored interventions, therapies, or strategies that better support an individual’s well-being and development.
Empowerment and self-advocacy – Understanding a diagnosis can help individuals and families advocate for their needs, whether in education, healthcare, or daily life.
Connection to community and resources – Many people find comfort in connecting with others who share similar experiences and gaining access to support networks and resources.
While a diagnosis isn’t necessary for everyone, it can be an important step in accessing the right support and making informed decisions about the future. If you’re unsure whether an assessment is right for you or your child, we’re happy to discuss your concerns and explore the best path forward.
The Neurodevelopmental Clinic works with associate prescribers and has partnerships with psychiatry clinics and professionals. However, appointments can be limited, and it is entirely up to the prescribing professional to determine suitability, fees, and availability based on the individual’s assessment and needs.
Additionally, medication management often involves shared care agreements with your GP if you intend to continue medication through the NHS. Whether your GP accepts a shared care agreement is at their discretion, so we strongly recommend discussing this with them before seeking a private prescription.
We are always happy to provide comprehensive evidence to support the thoroughness of our assessments, should your GP require additional information.
We offer a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, tailored to the unique needs of each individual. Our team provides support for a variety of neurodevelopmental and mental health concerns, ensuring that therapy is personalised and effective.
For more details on the specific therapies available and how we can support you or your child, please contact our clinic.
Therapy session lengths and the number of sessions required vary based on individual needs, goals, and the type of therapy provided. Sessions are typically 50 minutes, but this can differ depending on the approach.
During your initial consultation, we will discuss your concerns, outline a personalised plan, and give you an idea of what to expect in terms of session frequency and duration. Some people benefit from short-term therapy, while others may require longer-term support—we will work with you to find what fits best.
